These family-friendly concerts are all about enchantment! The Niagara Symphony Orchestra's (NSO) Classical Family series offers young concertgoers an eyes-wide, blow-you-away-exciting symphonic experience layering music, mask, movie themes and more. Classical Family concerts are a great follow-up to Summer Music Camp (SMC); many SMC faculty members play in the orchestra and they love to say hello following a concert.

Quick facts:

  • Classical Family concerts are 75 minutes long
  • There is no intermission
  • These concerts are best enjoyed by children 4 years old and up
  • Both the NSO and the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre have a no babes-in-arms policy

Classical Family 3: Dig It! - April 8 & 9

Giants of the distant past and living composers span millennia to come together in this entertaining concert! With a cheery nod to Saint-Saëns and Britten, we feature favourite dinosaurs, whimsical poetry, and a symphonic excavation of new music. As Canadian as Albertosaurus, all the music on this concert is home-grown, with narration by the composer himself!

NEW! Classical Family 3: DIG IT! is presented for schools at 2 performances Monday, April 10, 2017 in partnership with the imPACt series at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. Teachers can contact Stephanie Filippi for booking information at 905-688-5601 ext. 3617 | email Stephanie
