Today’s youth are the musicians and concertgoers of the future and the Niagara Symphony Orchestra (NSO) understands the intellectual, creative and emotional implications of integrating music in the lives of youth. This, in addition to championing the vision of a thriving arts community within the Niagara Region, is why the NSO offers a range of hands-on education and outreach programs for young people ages 18 months to 18 years.

The Niagara Symphony Orchestra is delighted to announce the Paul van Dongen Award for Excellence in Music Education, recognizing an outstanding teacher who inspires their students and introduces music across the curriculum.

The NSO is collaborating with Carousel Players and the Rodman Hall Art Centre in the “Champions of the Arts” initiative. Building on the success of the Carousel Players Norah Morgan Award, we proudly introduce the Paul van Dongen Memorial Award, and the Rodman Hall Art Centre Award, celebrating dedicated educators who champion the arts - drama, visual art, music - in Niagara schools.

Nominations are now open, submission deadline is June 12, 2017. CLICK HERE for more information.
